The night Leicester Square turned pink
The world premiere of Barbie at Odeon Leicester Square was, expectedly, a masterclass in pink. The red carpet was swapped for a custom pink runner — a nod to the film’s signature palette — and the turnout was extraordinary.
Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie arrived in a custom Versace look directly inspired by the original 1959 Barbie doll’s swimsuit. The strapless gold-and-white mini dress was a literal costume-to-carpet translation, complete with a matching headband and white open-toe heels. It set the tone for the entire evening.
Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling went full Ken in an all-white Gucci suit paired with a pastel pink shirt underneath — subtle enough to be menswear, loud enough to match the theme. He finished the look with blonde-tipped hair and aviator sunglasses, channelling Ken’s plastic perfection.
The rest of the cast
America Ferrera wore a red Valentino gown that stood out beautifully against the sea of pink. Kate McKinnon opted for a playful hot-pink mini dress with platform heels. Will Ferrell kept it classic in a navy suit — a rare restraint from a man who once played a CEO in a Will Ferrell movie.
London showed up
Leicester Square has hosted its share of blockbuster premieres, but few have matched the energy of Barbie night. The crowd was dressed head-to-toe in pink, the fan zone ran out of pink popcorn within an hour, and the afterparty featured a life-sized Barbie Dreamhouse replica.
