  7. Many fans objected to white actor Christopher Walken playing a role previously played by a Hispanic (Jose Ferrer) and an Italian (Giancarrlo Giannini) actor. 13. Elizabeth Debicki, Eva Green, Amy Adams, Natalie Dormer, Olivia Taylor Dudley, and Gwyneth Paltrow were considered for the role of Lady Margot Fenring before Léa Seydoux was cast.
  14. Christopher Walken will appear in this film as Emperor Shaddam IV. Walken has previously appeared with Dune (1984) actor Brad Dourif in Heaven's Gate (1981). Dourif has stated that the 1984 film is "Science fiction's answer to Heaven's Gate".
  15. The film unites several actors from the James Bond film franchise: Christopher Walken appeared as villain Max Zorin in A View to a Kill (1985); Javier Bardem played Silva in Skyfall; and Léa Seydoux appeared in Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021).
