1. Despite being set in Bali, Indonesia, the film was filmed in Queensland, Australia.
2. After doing the romantic comedy One Fine Day (1996), George Clooney said he would never do any more rom-coms, and that he'd only do dramas, mostly with a social message. This is the first full-blown rom-com he's done since then.

George Clooney jokes and says, "1-800-Brad-Pitt!" This is a reference to Ocean's Eleven. The three starred in the film together and Clooney and Roberts had a similar situation in their relationship.
